Fantastic campground with a great layout. Not many powered spots but thats not a bad thing. Great washrooms/facilities and perfect for boating. Amazing boat launch with tons of vehicle/trailer parking. Can't beat Kal Lake in the summer!

This is a great provincial park for camping. Flush toilets and showers were pretty well maintained. Given the close proximity to the highway you would think traffic noise would be an issue but you hardly notice it. Boat traffic in the lake wasn't that loud either (nothing like the noise coming from Cultus Lake). Park was we maintained and the hosts were friendly. If camping I would recommend a spot so your living area is facing North (towards Vernon) so you get some protection from the hot afternoon sun but can enjoy the warmth in the morning. Also, if walking your dog keep an eye on it as there are some cactus like prickle things around as we spent 30 minutes pulling needle from our dogs feet. Rail Trail offers a great walk or bike ride and while the beach is rocky the lake makes for a great swim. We would recommend this spot and will return.

On the plus side this park is located close to Hwy 97 and is easy to find. Most sites are large, private, level and have a view of the lake and valley. There are lots of birds and marmots to watch from your campsite. There is a modern playground near the lake, hiking trails through the grasslands and along the shore an old railway has been converted to a level, wide, gravel trail. What at first appear to be pit toilets are actually flush toilets with sinks. There are good docks and a good boat launch. On the negative side this park is on a hill side, has only one shower house, and lower level sites may be flooded in early spring. All but 4 sites have no power, water or sewer. There are 4 sites with electricity which are the worse sites in the park. They are small, with no privacy, a shared fire-pit, and flooded in spring. The power hook ups are on a shared post between sites. The beach is just a small backwater with a rock trail difficult for parents with strollers to navigate.
